What can you contact the editors about?

Mainly corrections: a size, speed, thread or rating that differs from the maker's document, a tool whose regional version uses a different bore or thread, a broken explanation or a product entry whose specs have changed. Questions about how the site works, how products are chosen or how the site is funded are welcome too. The editors cannot give advice about a specific job beyond what the guides and the tool's manual say.

Make a specification correction traceable. Page and value: Name the exact page and disputed figure. Replacement evidence: State the figure you believe is correct. Source document: Include the manual, edition or manufacturer reference.
Exact models and document editions help resolve regional differences.

What should a correction include?

Three things make a report quick to check:

  • the page address and the value in question;
  • the figure you believe is correct;
  • the document that gives it, such as a maker's spec page, a manual with its edition or date, or a standard.

Reports are checked against the source documents, and confirmed corrections are applied across every page that uses the value, as described on the methodology page.

Which issue are you reporting?. Specification conflict: A size, speed or thread differs from a source. Content problem: An explanation or reference needs correction. Site question: Ask about sourcing, funding or privacy.
The editors cannot replace tool-specific instructions for an individual job.

What will the editors not do?

The editors do not accept payment or free products in exchange for coverage, and do not review products by hand. The affiliate disclosure explains how the site is funded, and the privacy policy explains what the site does and does not collect.
